Resumo: |
Given the challenges faced by all individuals during the pandemic, the whole world has seen a huge increase in the use of technologies in different sectors of human life. And it was no different in education. From this observation, the motivation for this study emerged: researching storytelling (CHs) for children, in a digital environment (YouTube), and their storytellers, in order to answer the following question: Storytelling channels for children , available on YouTube, contribute to children's development in the literacy/literacy phase, more specifically, language skills, and, consequently, promote the formation of readers? Given the importance of CHs for child development, the initial concern was to find evidence that CHs channels for children encourage the formation of new readers. Thus, within the scope of Applied Linguistics, considering the qualitative research paradigm and observing the theoretical framework of Socioduscursive Interactionism (ISD), this research had the general objective of investigating three YouTube channels specifically aimed at CHs in Portuguese, in order to to verify whether these channels contribute to the development of language skills (CL) of children between 6 and 8 years old, in particular. Characterized as research of a basic, descriptive and documentary nature, the study firstly analyzed the performance of the three storytellers, comparing the profiles of each one with each other, in light of studies by Pinto (2007) and Souza (2015), together with Abramovich (1989, 1985, 2005), Sisto (2020) and Busatto (2021). The second part of the study analyzed the potential of HC episodes for the development of children's CL, therefore considering the precepts of ISD, based mainly on the works of Bronckart (1993, 2006, 2008), Dolz, Pasquier and Bronckart (1993), Schneuwly and Dolz (2004), Cristovão and Stutz (2011), Magalhães and Cristóvão (2018). The results indicate that the YouTube channels analyzed have great potential to contribute to the development of children, especially in aspects of cognition, speaking and language skills in general. Therefore, considering the positive and appropriate profile of storytellers, online CHs proves to be an important tool that can contribute to the training of young readers. Thus, there is evidence that this tool can be used by the school, as well as by the family itself, to motivate reading, which will lead to the development of CL. Furthermore, the study points to the need for qualification of those who wish to act as storytellers, given the importance of the activity for child development. |
