The elderly population has increased intensively throughout the world. Because of this rapid growth the elderly as well as living longer can become vulnerable and susceptible to developing chronic diseases and functional, requiring care. Whatever the scenario, the elderly caregiver feel about their physical and mental health reflections of their work in their daily life. The survey was conducted in the municipality of Erebango-RS, targeting population twenty elderly living condition to take care of other elderly. The study design was a qualitative and quantitative approach, and aimed to describe the experiences of a group of elderly caregivers of adult or elderly dependent or disabled. Data collection was carried out through home visits using a questionnaire that investigated the socio demographic issues and health conditions, the Zarit Burden Interview Scale that assessed the burden of the caregiver interview with guiding questions that were transcribed in full and analyzed using themselves to thematic analysis. The results met the objectives, addressing the livings of elderly caregivers. The results showed that alone take care of a family is not an easy task and that caregivers face several feelings that lead to physical, emotional and social burden.
