Resumo: | The central research problem is in the process of implementation of the National Policy on Solid Waste and the State Plan for Solid Waste SP, in the municipalities members of the Alto Paranapanema watershed committee (UGRHI -14). We can hypothesized the existence of institutional interfaces between the integrated management of municipal solid waste and integrated water resources management, and the potential of geotechnology and environmental education that lead to a new urban waste management model. We seek to contribute to the improvement of urban waste management of municipal solid waste in UGRHI - 14 from: the diagnosis of management of municipal solid waste with details on the scale of the municipalities of the watershed committee - Alto Paranapanema; demonstration of institutional interfaces; the potential of geo-technologies (GIS ) and geographic analysis tool; the theoretical potential from the perspective of environmental education and proposing a management model of municipal urban solid waste. Our methodological approach is summarized in: identifying the research problem and alignment of the hypothesis, literature review, analysis of sectoral public policies diagnosis of waste management, identification and demonstration of institutional interfaces, identification and demonstration of the potential of geotechnology and environmental education.
