Resumo: |
This thesis aims to investigate the fictional prose of Herculano Marcos Inglês de Sousa (1853-1918), as well as to analyze his texts of literary criticism, published between the years of 1875 and 1877. The press also notices the publication of A feiticeira (The sorceress) in booklet. The short stories are revised to be published in the volume Contos amazônicos (Tales from Amazonia, 1893) - where are also found four other texts. The relations his literary criticism establishes with his fictional prose written between 1876 and 1877 are inevitable. The author not only is a divulgator of the Realism but also tries to experiment in his fictional works the characteristics of the new artistic aesthetic... |
