Resumo: The aim of our master’s dissertation in Education - linked to the research line called Formative Processes, Values and Difference- is to understand how the School Book of Occurrence, institutional instrument used in some brazilian public schools to record the events that affect the functioning of these institutions with regard to student behavior, brings the reports about homophobic violence that develop in the educational space. Homophobia, in general, relates to attitudes of violence (physical, psychological) and positions - even implicit - when materialized, act as a mechanism for interdiction, surveillance and control of sexual behavior (albeit expressed by Subject heterosexual) not heterocentric and / or not represented by patterns of gender identity. Thus, the present study funded by the Research Foundation of the State of São Paulo - FAPESP, developed in twelve schools of the State Public Elementary and Middle II of Presidente Prudente, SP, seeks to meet the following specific objectives from the analysis of school books of Occurrence: to survey of the reports that relate to the topic of homophobia; analyze the content and frequency of these reports appear , and to identify the possible positions of educators who reported the incident and the actions taken by the whole body of the school about the issue.
