Resumo: The information in organizations more than ever became an element that contributes excessively in daily tasks and mainly in corporate decisions. In this sense, and as there are few studies addressing this issue in the context of productive organizations, is seeking through research outline a theoretical support that enables to identify and map the information literacy in organizational work environment, in addition to analyzing its influence in conjunction with the use of competitive intelligence tools for decision making in this environment. Thus, a field survey with the support of technical case study with the managers of the Mizumo (Pompéia/SP) that operates in the segment of the environment, the organization selected as the research sample was performed. This study was developed initially with a literature survey the literature for the construction of theoretical support. To characterize the universe documentary research was conducted at the site and advising institutional press, which helped with getting information about the organization and its environment. The methodological procedures the realization of a workshop, prepared by the principles of meaningful learning Ausubel and Diagram Belluzzo® and also in conjunction with the standards and indicators of information literacy using the methodology of content analysis were used Bardin that allowed the categorization of results and their transformation into statistics. Still, the technique was used structured interview with pre-established script to obtain information from the managers surveyed in order to allow an analysis under the approach of the principles and concepts that encompass information literacy in the workplace and the universe the criteria of inter-relation with the competitive intelligence process.
