The freezing and refrigeration are biotechnology very used in equine reprodution, although a significant number of stallion have low seminal quality after cryopreservation. Many authors described the importance of lipid composition of spermatic membrane in crypreservation resistance.The aim of this study is to analisy the lipid profile with MALDI-MS of plasmatic membrane of stallion sperm, checking its relation with breed and with spermatic resistance to freezing and refrigeration. Four experiments were done. The experiment 1 verified the diference of phospholipid spermatic membrane in stallions of Mangalarga Marchador and Quarter horse breeds, which was observed bigger relative abundance of ions m/z 728,6; 741,5 e 744,5 in Mangalarga Marchador. The experiment 2 evaluated the spermatic phospholipid membrane between stallions with weak and resistant to the damage of freezing and was observed bigger relative abundance of ions m/z 703,5; 728,6; 782,5; 808,5 and 836, 6 in the animals weaks to freezing. The experiment 3 compared the phospholipids of stallions spermatic membranes with sperm weaks or resistant to the damage of refrigeration and was observed bigger relative abundance of ions m/z 772,5 e 774,6 in animals resistants to refrigeration. The experiment 4 showed that not the same lipids offer spermatic resistance to freezing and refrigeration.The results of this study demonstrate tha there is a diference in lipid profile of spermatic membrane between Quarter Horse and Mangalarga Marchador breeds, between animals weak and resistant to freezing and between animals weak and resistant to refrigeration.
