Resumo: | Simulation models of crop growth make possible to estimate productivity and water balance components with low cost and high precision. The objective was to calibrate and evaluate the performance of CROPGRO model for the bean crop at conditions of Jaboticabal, SP. The model was calibrated and verified with data previously collected from two experiments conducted in 2002 and 2003. The treatment of those experiments corresponded to two irrigation monitoring methods, tensiometers and Class A pan, under two planting systems, no tillage and conventional. For calibration we used the 2002 experiment and in validation, 2003. Using the genetic coefficients calibrated for the IAC-Carioca, the model correctly simulated the phenology, growth of leaf area, dry matter and grain yield, throughout the period of calibration and testing, under no tillage and conventional tillage system, combined with monitoring of irrigation tensiometer and tank Class A. The moisture in the soil profile simulations agreed with the measurements obtained in the field, in both crop systems and monitoring methods |
