Resumo: |
Air pollution can negatively affect the health of those who exercise outdoors because during aerobic exercise particle deposition in the lungs is higher than rest. The investigation of the effects of pollution during physical exercise suggested that these individuals have a greater risk of respiratory and cardiovascular morbidity due to an amplification in respiratory uptake, lung deposition and toxicity of inhaled pollutants. Objective: To evaluate the effects of exposure to air pollution in the city of Presidente Prudente - SP on pulmonary function , functional capacity, levels of carbon monoxide and mucociliary transportability of healthy individuals who practice aerobic exercise indoor and outdoor environments. Methods: Participated of this study 24 nonsmokers between 40-60 years, sedentary; randomized into three groups: outdoor exercise - (Exe+O), indoor exercise (Exe+In) and sedentary control group (CG). We evaluated pulmonary function, functional capacity, concentration of exhaled carbon monoxide exhaled (exCO) and saccharin transit time test (STT). The PM10, NO2 and O3 were quantified daily by automatic station of CETESB... |
