Resumo: | New studies about management and human behavior analyze spirituality as an indispensable variant, since this element seems to intermediate the behavior of people in a process of perception, internal interpretation, and action within companies. In this way, spirituality, by influencing in human behavior, drew attention to the possibility of relating to organizational commitment. Thus, the verification of such a relation seems to make sense, because, once there is that supposed relation, this would benefit the management of people with information not possible to be obtained before, and which could serve as a basis for more assertive and focused on the individuality of people decision making process. Thus, in order to create affective ties with the organization, it is necessary to have a certain motivation, conditions for that feeling to surface, that motivation may be in the spirituality that refers to possible elements necessary to favor the occurrence of affective feeling with the company, leading the person to commit to the organization. In this way, we sought to analyze if there is a relation between spirituality and organizational commitment in the face of the general objective of the study in analyzing the relation between spirituality and organizational commitment in the vision of the employees in the commerce sector in the city of Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brazil. This study had a descriptive and quantitative character with cross section in the year 2017. The data collection instrument for spirituality was the WHOQOL-SRPB questionnaire and, for affective organizational commitment, the one proposed by Meyer, Allen and Smiths, being scales tested and validated in Brazil. The survey method was used to collect the data, where the population surveyed were people who work in commerce in the city of Foz do Iguaçu – PR, Brazil, in a sample of 403 respondents who had access to the questionnaire through a link provided on the internet by the method of convenience. After the data collection, which received statistical treatment, the data were analyzed and discussed, as well as the conclusions were presented. From the results it was observed that there is a relation between spirituality and organizational commitment, which is generally moderate, significant and positive, concluding that the greatness associated with both dimensions behaves in the same sense, that is, spirituality increases or is increased by organizational commitment. The spirituality factors most related to the organizational commitment were felt in life, totality and integration, and hope and optimism, presenting correlations 0,532; 0,512; 0,536; respectively, at the level of 0,01. |
