Aplicações analíticas na construção civil: investigações e um estudo de caso na gestão de custos

Resumo: | Strategic management is essential to meet the requirements of an enterprise and analytical applications, such as Business Intelligence and Analytics (BIA) tools, have great potential for contribution, providing management information about the business. Tools of this type are used in various sectors of industry, but in construction, the focus of this research, the scenario is different, with much to advance. Therefore, this research brings a survey of analytical applications, focusing on the Business Intelligence and Analytics tools used in the construction sector and their possible contributions and limitations, also presenting an application proposal, seeking to evaluate the usability, benefits, limitations and the results of the use of the tool. For this, initially a narrative review of the literature was conducted, where a preliminary scenario of the problem situation was obtained that allowed the elaboration of two exploratory questions, being "What data analysis tools have been used in the area of civil construction?" and "For what purpose were these technologies used?". These questions were answered through a systematic review of the literature, where several tools were identified, used for 14 different purposes, the most relevant being identified in the area of cost management, preparation of budgets and work safety. In possession of the results obtained in the systematic review, a case study was conducted in a construction company in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, where an analytical application was carried out experimentally to support the management of construction costs. After the implementation of the tool and period of use by the three engineers of the company, questionnaires were applied to evaluate the usability, benefits and limitations of use, where it was possible to verify that the application has good usability and benefits decision making, through the provision of important information quickly. Finally, the results provided by the application in improving the decision-making process were evaluated by the company owners, who considered the tool useful and that it added value to the business cost management process, justifying the implementation definitively. The results also served to prove that the company university interaction, one of the focuses of the professional master's degree, was beneficial for the improvement of management practices. The theoretical gaps evidenced by the research, such as the evaluation of the benefits of data mining, as well as estimates of the financial impact of the use of analytical application may be the target of future work. |
