Resumo: This research is aimed at analyzing the reception of the American series Queer as Folk Os Assumidos presented in Brazil through a signature channel. The central theme of the show was the daily group of gay friends. The series ended up in 2005, but the repercussions by internet, specifically on social networking sites Orkut and Facebook have continued and continue today. Due to these uses and appropriations of the virtual space by viewers and fans of the show, the analysis and research of the narratives they were inserted by an important field of sources to discuss issues such as reception of the show, narratives of personal confessions and individual as well as the question to take sexual orientation and their conflicts. It was noticed that the internet was characterized as an important field used by viewers to discussions regarding the series as well as a virtual diary, being used as a kind of confessional. In this sense social networks and communities within these networks targeted to fans of the show, was an important means of approaching homosexual groups, generating relations of friendship and trust. The investigation of these areas has enabled us to realize historically, how, why, and how these relationships are established in contemporary society
