Resumo: This research has as its theme the variation of voicing and devoicing of occlusive and fricative consonants in Brazilian Portuguese in contact with German in three locations in Brazil, in data collected by the “Atlas das Línguas em Contato na Fronteira” (ALCF). Based on the theme, the research is guided by the following question: which linguistic and extralinguistic contexts act as conditioners for the realization of the variation of voicing and devoicing of occlusive and fricative consonants of Portuguese in contact with German in the extreme west of Santa Catarina? To reach the possible answers, the general objective is to analyze the linguistic and extralinguistic contexts that condition the voicing and devoicing phenomena in the realization of occlusive and fricative consonants in the speech of German-Portuguese bilinguals in the cities of São Itapiranga, São João do Oeste and Mondaí, Santa Catarina. For this, the theoretical and methodological basis is Multidimensional and Relational Dialectology (RADTKE; THUN, 1996; THUN, 1998; 2005; 2010), which analyzes language from diferent dimensions. In this study, we investigated variation through diatopic, diastratic, diagenerational and diassexual dimensions. It is, therefore, a experimental descriptive quantitative-qualitative research, in which we stratify the data quantitatively for subsequent qualitative and descriptive analysis. For data analysis, graphs and cartograms were prepared so that it was possible to verify the elements that condition the variation. As a result, the data reveal that in the municipality of São João do Oeste, both the variation in voicing and devoicing are more productive, in addition to age and low education are important factors in conditioning to the phenomenon.
