Resumo: | The screen survey aims to problematize the presence of Muslim Arab immigrants in the socioeconomic context of the border of the city of Guaíra, western Paraná. The border environment is notable for the remaining growth of the commercial sector, mainly stimulated for activities in the border area. In recent years several Muslim Arab families of various contries in the Middle East settled in the border in order to market of Paraguay. That residence initially fixed in the city of Foz do Iguaçu. In recent years there has been a secondary displacement of immigrants from Ciudad Del Este to the city of Guaíra. The possibilities for trade at the border have motivated the mobility of migrant groups. The research sought to understand the practices, representations and meanings that were built on the arrival process of immigrants. To remove the analysis, the research still proposed to contextualize the Arab culture and the immigration of these people to Brazil, in particular, the flow directed to the city of Guaíra. The interviews indicated specificities of the Arab ethnic group in Guaíra-PR, as possibilities to analyze the influence of the Arab immigration to the municipality. |
