Resumo: | The ability to innovate represents the greatest source of productivity for a company, being essential to gain competitive advantage. In an innovation system, the government has the fundamental role of encouraging companies in their innovative activities, through public policies and instruments to support research, development and innovation (R, D & I). . Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the use of financial support mechanisms for innovation by innovative companies in the western region of Paraná. The study developed, from the point of view of its nature, is an applied research, as the way of approaching the problem, it is classified as qualitative and, from the point of view of its objectives, considered descriptive. The methodological approach adopted allowed the identification of the main innovation support mechanisms available and, based on it, the development and application of a questionnaire (survey) to companies located in the western region of Paraná, in order to understand the factors that stimulated and limited the use of innovation support mechanisms. The analysis of the results made it possible to identify that most companies, characterized as innovative, have already used mechanisms to support innovation. For companies that use incentives, results related to product and process innovation, improvement of R & D infrastructure and training of human resources were observed. As for the non-use of incentives, it was found that the main reasons for not using the available mechanisms are the excessive bureaucracy faced by companies to access the incentives, the lack of knowledge about them and the scarcity of mechanisms available to the needs companies studied, indicating that it is necessary to carry out effective actions by the public and private sector to overcome these barriers. |
