Resumo: | The aim of this study was to evaluate the feeding manegement of pacu juveniles submitted to differerente feeding rates and its relation with productive performance, body composition and hematological characteristics. The experiment was conducted at the transition area of the Itaipu Binacional reservoir, in the Research development center for aquaculture in cages, situated on the Santa Helena - PR town s biological refuge, during a 78 days period. There were used 300 fish with initial mean weight 84,75±4,52 g, distributed in a completely randomized design, composed of four treatments (100, 90, 80 e 70 % of feed supply) and five replications, using twenty cages with 0,49 m2 of area and 0,34 m3 of volume. A cage containing fifteen fish in a 44 fish/m3 density was considered a sampling unit. A commercial extruded feed containing 32% of crude protein was used. The feeding rates were calculated according to the quantity of feeding provided in the 100% treatment, or until apparently satiety. At the end of the experimental period, the fish were fasten by 24 hours to then be made the hematological, performance, yield, carcass chemical composition evaluations of the animals. No differences were observed (P>0,05) for final weight, weight gain and specific growth rate. However, the apparently feed conversion showed linear increase directly proportional to the animal s feeding percentage. There were no differences found (P>0,05) between the averages of gutted weight, dressed out, fillet, hepatosomatic index and viscerasomatic fat index of the animals. Also for the hematological parameters and the chemical composition there were not observed differences (P>0,05). Therefore the feeding rate until 70% over the apparently satiety reduces the apparently feed conversion index, providing good productive results, without influencing the chemical composition as well as biochemical and hematological parameters of pacu (P. mesopotamicus) juveniles reared in cages. |
