Resumo: | Despite the great importance for the productive sector, the feeding frequency studies with fish are scarse. The study was performed with net pens placed at the Itaipu lake, located in Santa Helena - PR. Three thousand two hundred pacu juveniles (Piaractus mesopotamicus), with inital weight of 65.9±2.36g, were spreaded in sixteen cages, in a completely randomized design. It was divided in four treatments and four repetitions, wich were: A daily feeding at 12h00 (T1), two feedings at 8h00 and 17h00 (T2), three feedings at 8h00, 12h00 and 17h00 (T3), and four daily feedings at 8h00, 11h00, 14h00 and 17h00 (T4). Conducted from march 2010 to may 2010, it lasted sixty-five days. The net pens were arranged in a line, separated by a distance of two meters and installed in an eight meters depth enviroment. It was used commercial ration with 32% of crude protein. The quality water physicochemical parameters (DO, pH, conductivity, temperature and transparency) were monitored and classified as standards for the specie. At the end of the experimental period, fish remained with no food for a period of 24h before the procedures of blood collection, productive performance parameters evaluation and animal proximate composition evaluation. For weight gain and food intake, there were significant differences (P<0.05) between treatments. The survival rate, feed conversion, final biomass, visceral-somatic fat and hepatosomatic indexes didn't show significant differences (P>0.05) between treatments. Chemical analysis of fish was not statistically different (P>0.05) for moisture variables, crude protein, lipid and ash. The blood parameters like glucose, triglycedrides, hematocrit, hemoglobin and MCHC,didn't show significant differences (P>0.05) between the studied treatments. Although protein, cholesterol and erythrocyte did show statistical differences (P<0.05) between frequencies, these parameters remained in the default reference range for Pacus created into net pens enviroments. The system of three feeding daily resulted in better productive results, without interfering in animals health and animal proximate composition |
