Resumo: This research of analytic and bibliographic character is focused on the childhood subjects and intends to point out some possible readings of Conversa de bois, a tale that integrates the book Sagarana, and Campo geral/Miguilim, part of Corpo de baile, by João Guimarães Rosa, as well as the cinematographic transposition of Campo Geral to the movie Mutum (2007), by Sandra Kogut. Therefore, this dissetation attempts to the premiss of literary reading, articulated to the theories of reception of literary texts by Hans Robert Jauss, Wolfgang Iser, Vincent Jouve, Umberto Eco and Mikhail Bakhtin, to the analytic-interpretative reading of these texts by Guimarães Rosa. And still, the research studies the sociological concept of childhood from the European tradition, based on the authors Elizabeth Badinter and Philippe Ariès, and on the Brazilian cultural context with Gilberto Freyre, and yet analyses Tiãozinho and Miguilim's characters created by Guimarães Rosa precocious passageway from boy to men, based on the theoretic purposes of Mircea Eliade. Finally, supported by the first chapter's theories of reception/reading, and the sociological conceptions about the childhood subject of the second chapter, as well as David Wark Griffith's cinema narrative technique, the subjects approached by Guimarães Rosa in Campo Geral are analyzed, and retaken by the cinematographic language perspective by Sandra Kogut, on the movie Mutum, in resume, on the last chapter of this research, it is analyzed how the childhood configuration is captured by this movie. In synthesis, it intends to analyze the childhood subject inside the tale Conversa de bois and Campo Geral/Miguilim, from the perspective of Theory of Reception, the sociological perspective of childhood concept, as well as the way that this subject is retaken by the movie maker Sandra Kogut on the movie Mutum.
