Resumo: This paper aimed to verify which on-grid renewable energy system, considering three options (wind, photovoltaic and hybrid photovoltaic-wind) is the most suitable for a rural property in Corbélia – PR. This property consists in two chicken coops that keep 47.700 birds and have a system of 248 solar panels, 360 W each, which generates 13.472,35 kWh/month of energy. After designing a wind energy system and a hybrid photovoltaic wind one, as well surveying all the costs related, the data was analyzed and their avoided costs calculated, using the discounted payback period methodology, that shows the period necessary for each solution to start giving profit. As results, only the photovoltaic system is economically viable, it starts giving profit after 10 years and its financial balance is 496.431,51 by the end of its 25 years warranty. The wind energy system did not return its investment, presenting a negative R$ 595.936,55 balance by the end of its 20 years lifespan; as well as the hybrid solution, whose balance at its 20 years lifespan’s end is R$ -18.298,03.
