Resumo: The waste from the production of swine and inadequate management of these wastes pose a major risk to the environment. With the need to modernize treatment techniques for pig manure using microorganisms and biodigesters, this study aims to verify the influence on the treatment of swine manure when applied a biological modulator and its efficiency in the biodegradability of organic matter submitted in biodigesters. A completely randomized experimental design with two treatments and six replicates was used. The treatments were composed of the untreated shed waste and the shed waste with the treatment. The treatment constituted in the application of the biological modulator in the bays where the animals were installed. From these conditions, two batches were conducted according to the time of 45 and 93 days of confinement of the animals. The results showed that the presence of the biological modulator in the swine manure did not affect the anaerobic digestion in a significant way, the biogas production and biodegradability of the organic matter were not affected.
