Resumo: | The objective of this research was to know and register the narratives of midwives and doulas about the assistance given to giving birth and at birth, in the municipality of Francisco Beltrão, Paraná. From the life stories presented, we sought to identify the relationships between the different types of care provided and analyze the initiatives and interactions that these women create in the individual and collective contexts in which they work. The central issue is to know, from the outline of a (re)construction of oral memory, which posture was adopted by women in maintaining their space alongside the parturient. This writing is, then, an exploratory, descriptive and affective study, of a qualitative nature, carried out from oral reports transcribed in their entirety and their intersections with the author's life experience. In the analysis, carried out from an inductive and intuitive perspective, the narratives were explored in the horizon of readings such as Silvia Federici, Donna Haraway, Margareth Rago, Flavia Biroli and Jorge Larossa. It was concluded that midwives and doulas personify a presence that we women have of another(s) and of what she(s) transmitted to us/transmitted about life, whether or not she/they are with us, with our possible interpretations of the world (within the culture that does not abandon us), at the moment when our bodies bring another person to life. From this, it is understood that the assistance to childbirth and birth, performed by women, takes place throughout the historical period of the city's existence, although it is continuously strengthened and reconstructed in a complex intercommunication of knowledge, powers and initiatives. |
