Resumo: This master's thesis presents as general objective the analysis of the presence of religious alienation in the work of Social Assistants in their various socio-occupational spaces, seeking to understand the socioreligious manifestations of these professionals, based on their own discourses, in the analysis of the perception of the referred ones professionals on the subject related to the current professional daily life and in the training processes of these professional subjects. This is a qualitative research, the literature review on the subject covered, mainly, aspects on the world of work in which religious alienation is located, as well as on the foundations of Social Service in Brazil and the relation of these with the Catholic Church and his social and philosophical doctrine. The empirical research was carried out with professionals who carry out their work in the social-assistance network of the Western region of the State of Paraná. From this study, it was possible to identify an important conservative trait with religious characteristics. In view of a conservative society, this trait spreads to other sectors of life, such as the process of formation and professional practice, so that religion and religiosity end up being mediations in the daily work of these professionals.
