Psychological problems in adolescence are still a subject to be investigated better, especially in inland municipalities with a population of less than 40 thousand inhabitants. The objective of this study was to identify the psychological profile of school adolescents from a small municipality in the interior of the RS, through the Child Behavior Check List (CBCL). For that, 238 volunteer adolescents and their families from two public schools and two individuals who attended high school were interviewed. Results found showed a different psychological profile of liteartura, usually based on samples of urban adolescents. That is, our sample had a profile of markedly internalizing symptoms rather than outsourcers, as most literature preconize. Thus, our findings suggest that the psychological profile of inner adolescents is different from the profile of adolescents in urban areas, at least when evaluated by CBCL.
