Resumo: Cloud computing has been a successful paradigm in its goal to provide remote computing resources in a competitive and scalable way when compared to traditional computing sce-narios. Companies have expressed interest in migrating and using cloud services. However, the literature has reported difficulties and challenges faced by companies while migrating their assets to the cloud. In addition, there is also the difficulty in identifying qualified professionals to support companies to plan, perform and monitor the migration of their legacy systems to the cloud. This thesis aims at characterizing the effectiveness of the use of cloud computing scenarios in Software Design and Analysis and Operating Systems undergraduate courses. The thesis describes the use of the following approaches: flipped classroom with active learning, Goal Question Metric (GQM), Action-research. The results provided initial evidence that cloud computing resources integrated to the contents of the aforementioned courses contributed to a reasonable rate of qualification, only 57 % of the classes felt motivated / committed to 59 % participation in learning activities developed in the classroom, with an average of 6. In addition, the knowledge gained and experience with cloud computing resources has the potential to contribute in the qualification of future professionals to meet the needs of organizations regarding the discussed topic.
