Resumo: The Information Retrieval Systems (IR) were constructed for easier access to information in a repository of data, offering resources for organizing, indexing and retrieval of data. These repository can contain any digital information such as documents, files, music or videos. In a repository of videos, the IR systems have difficult to index the information because of the low content of metadata for video files (name, physical size or date of change). To solve this problem it is necessary to include new metadata associated with video files. These new metadata associated with files can be added as notes taken in the video or as low-level features extracted from frames of video. The purpose of this study is to build a framework to facilitate construction of tools that offers resources to consult a multimedia repository that has these additional metadata associated with their videos files. To validate the framework were built two environments (one desktop and another Web) using classes that access the repository to provide multimedia interactive forms of information to recover video files. The recovery of information works with with research that has as parameters text and images. The recovery used as data source, the metadata records and the characteristics of low stored. For display of information retrieved is used metaphors of graphs, lines of time and carousel that allow the refinement of the information retrieved by the user, helping you to find the desired information.
