Resumo: The use of digital social networking through virtual environments - in particular the site www.facebook.com, is transforming the world contemporaneous communications between groups that, until then, did not realize the power of the silent call of your virtual participants mobilize and demonstrate the dissatisfaction with the social, political, educational, financial, economic and structure. In addition to social changes occurred in other places: the Arab Spring, the Occupy at the United States, the Indignants in Spain and the protection of Taksim Square in Turkey, the Brazilian movements Rolezinho (flash mob) and Passe Livre (free pass), Brazilian dissatisfactions took over Canudos in mid-2013. Therefore, the guiding question of this thesis is: Which model to use the digital social network in Canudos? The answers to this question pervades the analysis of five other questions: What type of poverty that most influence the development of local Canudos? As the history of Canudos war may influence poverty reduction? As the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) can reduce the distances between the various educational and cultural levels and help reduce poverty? The digital social networks may influence the local development? And what are the most in need of intervention of local ICT to reduce poverty? By joining for a momentary diagnosis, as the methodological plan - Appendix B, it will be possible to understand how the history of Canudos, its formation, the causes of existing poverty, the limited universe of ICTs available to few users, and digital social networks with their personal and social groups, political, educational and social structural manifestations, mapped using geoprocessing techniques, results in a model of use of digital social networks - based virtual environment of the site www.facebook.com, through the identification of potential social, new technologies and some life changes of population using these tools to communicate with other communities, networks or subnets digital, social.
