Mapping and routing are by far the most popular geographic information services on the Web. Ordinary users are very comfortable in consulting maps of the road network and to requesting the best route to go from place to place. The Web 2.0 provides new mechanisms to support and motivate people to produce and shared digital content through social networks. The production of georeferenced video of vehicles running on the road forms a notable source of information that can be combined with routing system to provide not only directions of a route but a movie of the selected route. This paper presents a methodology to produce video of routes based on the segmentation and composition of georeferenced videos. It is expected that the presentation of the route on a map combined with the video of the route will enhance users’ assimilation of the route. |
