Resumo: |
This research had the objective of investigating the traditions present in the everyday life of the artisanal fishermen of the region of Piratininga, in the municipality of Niterói, revealing the networks of solidarity that are established in the territory. It questioned: how the traditions of the artisanal fishing remain alive in the work of the fishermen of Piratininga? How do fishermen resist environmental and social problems to maintain their traditions? The methodology chosen was the oral history of life, proposed by Meihy (2015). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews. The collaborators were fishermen who work in the beach of Piratininga, members of the last "companha" of the place, who still practice trawling. Nine fishermen were interviewed. They participated in paddling, dropping the net, making the helm and helping on the beach to hold the rope. Interviews were recorded in audio, transcribed, textualized and “transcreated”. Narratives were analyses, indicating “central themes" and “vital tones”, in other words, meanings about the artisanal fishing tradition in Piratininga. Results revealed details of the practice of trawling, bringing to light the processes of solidarity and traditions of artisanal fishing in the region. |
