Resumo: This research aimed to evaluate the application of interventions with students of the 7th and 8th years of elementary school II of a public school in Ipiranga neighborhood inserted into the mangrove biome with the environment and contribute to the awareness of these students about environmental issues through activities educational related to this biome. Environmental issues were presented to the school students "Hilda Professor de Souza Coelho". It was used as a methodological reference the qualitative study had as aid instruments: presentation of the study area, hiking in the interpretative trails and applying a questionnaire. Confirming aspects of the theory that the trails have the purpose of developing the walkers a new awareness field, if found as students realized the environment and environmental problematic of the park. Developed the understanding that environmental interpretation as well as the EE not only comes down transmission of information, but the involvement of values, feelings and care of the space visited seeking to reflect on the meaning of the environment. There is a need of a reversal in this situation of degradation and abandonment for sustainable preservation, based on EE and environmental awareness of this natural heritage, whose main biome the importance of mangroves not only for the CU, as well as to all the community of your surroundings. The final considerations close the dissertation demonstrating an approach of interaction between students with the activities. In this way it is concluded that an important step for the training of students inserts activities in natural areas on EE projects.
