Resumo: This study aims to identify the values present in the work ethic in our society and its impact on the lives of individuals and their subjectivity. We sought to understand the changes occurring in the labor relations from globalization and technological advances that enabled new forms of control of labor, and the preponderance of financial capitalism. These changes have led to a deterioration of working conditions and the working environment, as well as impact the relationships in the workplace and the way of life of workers. Within these transformations we can find the growth of structural unemployment, the emergence of temporary work, outsourcing and the informal economy - marks precariousness of work in our age. To support the theoretical work, a survey was conducted of the available literature on the following topics: ethics , morals, values , work, work subjectivity, and the changes in the workplace over the past decades. To achieve the objectives of the work we did a qualitative research using semi-structured interviews with ten managers, divided into three groups , two groups by age and another group composed of retired people who exercised management positions in their companies. The results of the analysis indicate that the work remains an important element for the formation of social identity, although there is a new form of relationship in the current generation , marked by loss of loyalty. It also indicates that ethics plays a key role in society. Signaled yet the perception of respondents who recognize the profound changes occurring in the workplace today, although some work values in the past maintained its importance in the current reality.
