Resumo: |
This paper aims at presenting the scope of Darcy Ribeiro’s legacy, as comprehensive as his ideas, desires and utopias. We intend to show the interdisciplinarity of this Brazilian intellectual and philosopher who, by means of his work, built a theory about Brazil and made educational projects. This focus is based on an interest in language, which was fully mastered by Darcy Ribeiro, as well as on History, Literature and Education. Ribeiro, organizer of the PEE (educational special program) in Rio de Janeiro, in the 1980s, which included the CIEPs, dealt with Anthropology, Literature, Education and Politics, carrying out several relevant functions. In this paper, we present some of his works, emphasizing the books O Povo Brasileiro, Maíra and O Livro dos CIEPs, showing not only the interdisciplinary nature of his thoughts – by his own words and the opinion of people who knew him, but also the linguistic wealth shown in the use of text genres, text types and aspects of language such as syntax and style. Particularly in the novel Maíra, the philosophy of Darcy Ribeiro may be analysed through aspects such as ideology, power, polyphony, memory, identity and culture, based upon, mainly, the works of Vera Rudge Werneck (1982), Michel Foucault (2011), Mikhail Bakhtin (2011), Maurice Halbwachs (2006), Michael Pollak (1992), Stuart Hall (1996) and Homi Bhabha (2001). To make it possible, we start from a brief biography, showing some historical facts of the world and of Brazil, related to his lifetime, searching for a connection of those with the career of the anthropologist, politician, writer and educator Darcy Ribeiro who, having lived a period of exile, built a huge bibliographic legacy which gave him the basis for making an educational program which included, among other items, 500 CIEP units. We organize our work based on the analysis of some of his writings. It is a qualitative research on the grounds of bibliographic review, analyzing his thoughts and revealing Darcy Ribeiro’s deep knowledge about Brazil. |
