Resumo: Leptospirosis is a cosmopolitan disease affecting domestic animals, wild animals and man, being determined by the infection of pathogenic strains of spirochetes belonging to the genus Leptospira. The objectives of the present study were to verify the reflexes of the adoption of a therapeutic and preventive strategy in situ in the reproductive indices and the serological profile of a dairy herd naturally infected by Leptospira spp. and with a history of reproductive problems. After the serological diagnosis of the disease, in July 2016, a therapeutic and preventive strategy was adopted. In order to verify the effects of this strategic approach on the reproductive indexes, a survey of abortion cases, estrus-rearing cows and the interval between births from January 2015 to December 2017 was carried out. The therapeutic and preventive strategy was shown, is effective in reducing antibody titers. In addition, the treatment and the adoption of preventive measures strategically planned against this disease influenced the reduction of the reproductive problems surveyed (abortion, estrus repetition and interval between high deliveries).
