Resumo: | The work intends to understand, from the perspective of cultural analysis, the production of meaning in the construction of cultural criticisms published in the magazines Veja and Carta Capital, about the movie V for Vengeance, released in 2005, directed by filmmaker James McTeigue. The proposal is to seek an understanding of the multiple productions of meaning in the face of the same object – the V for Vendetta film – without neglecting other discussions, such as the extent to which the texts still reflect the thoughts of their authors, in addition to ascertaining whether there is determination editorial or ideological role exercised by the media on their film critics. Throughout the research, it was possible to verify that the ideological positions adopted by both critics, even if in totally opposite poles, were essential for them to interpret the movie V for Vendetta. In this way, they highlighted everything that was pertinent in relation to their political positioning – on the right in the case of Isabela Boscov and on the left in the case of Pablo Villaça – and ignored or distorted what did not fit. Thus, the role of ideology becomes noticeable when analyzing an object, in this case, a feature film.. |
