Thisresearchaddressestheproductionofbiodegradablewaste in some restaurantsof Uberlândia city (MG)andproposes a modelof reverse logistics for thesewastesthroughcomposting. Both thechoiceofprinciplesandfieldresearchdevelopmentweremadethanksto a methodologicalliteraturereview. Thus, conceptssuch as wastesorting, composting, reverse logisticsandwaste in Uberlândia, as well as thequantificationofthebiodegradablewasteproductionoccurring in its restaurants, whichisnecessary for the management ofthosewastesinitiatives, werepresented. First, a diagnosisofthewasteproduction in restaurantswasdonethroughvisitsandsemi-structured interviews, photographicrecordsandwasteweighting. In a second time, visitsand interviews bothatthe Municipal City Hall, and some companyresponsible for urbancleaningandcompostingcompanieswerealsodonethroughoutthecity. Then, theanalysisoftheresultsledtothedevelopmentof a reverse logistics proposal, through a publicprivatepartnershipbetweenthe City Hall and a compostingcompany. Finally, thisresearchwasconcludedbytheidentificationofallparticipatingsubjectsthatisessential for theimplementationandtheexpectedfunctionalityofthisproposal.
