Resumo: Science Fairs are events that occur in schools and other spaces, where students present the results of works developed by them, with the support of teachers during the school year, propitiating exchanges of experiences among all participants and the dissemination of research results. In this scenario, this work aimed to understand the relationship between teachers of Basic Education and Ciência Viva Fair, a municipal and annual event that occurs in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais, since 1995, promoting the visibility of works developed by the students under the guidance of public and private school teachers from the city and region. The research data were constructed through interviews with teachers who participated in the 19th edition of the Fair, and the difficulties pointed out by participants about the institutional infrastructure were: 1) Lack of material resources; 2) Lack of support at school; 3) Lack of school structure; 4) Lack of time for work. Even in face of these difficulties, the results showed that there are educators committed to education and intend to innovate the pedagogical practice, contributing to the students training. Thus, enthusiasm, self-improvement and increasing in the self-esteem of students are important factors that motivate and foster them to participate in the meeting. Therefore, we recognize that these teachers contribute to the scientific education of students, instigating the constant learning and believing in the potential of each individual. As an educational product of this study, we developed a support material (tutorial) available on the website of Diversão com Ciência e Arte Museum (Dica), of Institute of Physics of Federal University of Uberlândia (Infis/UFU) and in the mobile application format. It was made in order to ease the specific necessities faced by the participating teachers of the Fair, such as the banner preparation, the project structuration and the logbook organization. It is worth mentioning that we believe in the pertinence and contribution of this instructional material, since it emerged from the results observed in the present investigation.
