Resumo: | Entrepreneurship is known for its repercussions of economic and social nature. The understanding of the dynamics of this phenomenon involves the identification and exploration of various approaches, characterized by a set of theoretical frameworks that contribute to the understanding and explanation of the different contexts of its manifestation. Based on this scenario, this essay was developed from a synthesis between two conceptions associated with entrepreneurship: on one side, the pre-organizational approach, which involves the notion of an entrepreneurial process; on the other, the organizational approach, which includes notions such as strategic entrepreneurship. Thereby, possibilities are opened to the due of new studies about the entrepreneurship in a broader perspective, enriching the theoretical-methodological alternatives available for the apprehension of the referred phenomenon. Based on this assumption, we sought, in this essay, answers the following research issue: How did the creation and development of craft beer organizations occur? For that, the general goal of the research consisted in understanding how the creation and development process of new businesses in the craft beer sector occurred in the city of Uberlândia, which is located in the state of Minas Gerais. Specifically, we sought to report the historical path of the investigated businesses, describe the creation of entrepreneurship process of the studied breweries, identify the exploration practices, identify the exploitation practices, and finally, identify and analyse the balance between exploration and exploitation practices, contributing to ambidexterity, in other words, to the development of investigated businesses. Based on the multi cases study strategy and the qualitative research approach, four companies that are located in city of Uberlândia and perform in producing craft beer were investigated. The analysis and discussion of the research results allowed the apprehension of the stage entrepreneurship process of new organizations creation, since the birth of the idea, identification and exploration of opportunities, even the efective creation and consolidation of the company in the market. Even more, it was possible to apprehend the practices related to strategic entrepreneurship, with regard to the particularities of the manifestation of actions linked to exploration, exploitation and ambidexterity. In this regard, it appears that the approach of entrepreneurship through this double movement, considering it at the same time as a pre-organizational phenomenon, from the structuring of the entrepreneurship process, and as organizational phenomenon, from the manifestation of strategic entrepreneurship can contribute effectively to entrepreneurship research, enabling new perspectives for understanding business creation and development processes in specific business contexts and in different regionalities, such as the craft beer sector and organizations in this sector that operating in the region of Uberlândia-MG. |
