This study has as its main objective to make a historical and systematical approach of John Locke’s educational and pedagogical thought, making focus on his work entitled Some Thoughts Concerning Education. Thus, it considers necessary to make, on the first hand, a historical context of John Locke’s life and age, showing his biography, his personality, his age (the XVIIth century) and, mainly, his philosophical thought, through the resource to others of his works, mainly the Essay Concerning Human Understanding and the Two Treatises Of Government.
