Resumo: Nowadays, the performance of the national State in face of globalization and global interdependence has become less efficient in addressing all the interests and needs of the society. Therefore, it was necessary that the subnational actors (governmental and not governmental) started to act in the international scope in a political and active way. Once subnational actors have a better understanding of local needs, they are more capable to solve problems in their region, and their international performance allows them to get resources and investments, as well as to bring solutions to the local problems. This action is related to the internationalization of the city. One of the current themes that cover the globe as a whole is the United Nations Sustainable Goals (Agenda 2030). This Agenda aims a dignified life for all humanity, and with the commitment of all countries of the United Nations to these objectives, subnational governments are also responsible. Therefore, this work aims to raise the impacts of the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in the internationalization of Uberlândia-MG, in Brazil. The case study will be analyzed based on the concepts of multi-level governance and international cities.
