Resumo: The general objective of the present study is to examine the organization of the work process of the organ and tissue donation team for transplants (CIHDOTT), from a Clinical Hospital of Triangulo Mineiro. As a consequence, the specific objectives are: 1) to investigate if there is mental wear of the workers involved in this process and 2) to describe the main characteristics of the team studied. This is an exploratory qualitative research in the field of Worker's Health, in which the material selected for the study was submitted to the analysis of thematic content and referred to the theoretical category of work-related mental fatigue. Participant observation and semi-structured individual interviews were used to collect data in the field. It was possible to create the following thematic categories: work day, work process, conditions and work organization, interpersonal relationship, suffering and pleasure at work. The analysis of the organization of the work process showed that the workers are subject to several risks, which can lead to loss of health, especially to mental wear and tear. Nevertheless, workers are affectively attached to work, which can be a source of sublimation, providing pleasure and satisfaction. The present study proposes the replanning of work in the studied sector.
