Resumo: | The main objective of this work is to analyze the historicity of nostalgia and its political and cultural meanings at the beginning of the 21st century, as seen on the episode San Junipero (2016), from the television series Black Mirror (2011-present), directed by Owen Harris and written by Charlie Brooker. It is intended to question, based on the episode, how virtualization and interactivity that characterize the technologies present in societies in this period, allow the reproduction of styles, emotions and sensibilities from past times, to understand how the return to nostalgia is enhanced by new forms of media consumption and the digital technological revolution. To this end, we propose a deepening in the historicity of nostalgia, understanding it in the 21st century as a cultural phenomenon charged with political senses. Based on the elements investigated in the visuality of the episode studied, this research establishes an approach to audiovisual productions and the theoretical references interested in the themes that go through our analysis, such as nostalgia, the technical-scientific imaginary and media culture. In conclusion, we will dialogue the selected receptions of the episode, in order to cover our investigation to the representations of the Black Mirror anthology related to the consumption of these audiovisual productions in the society represented on screen. |
