This research presents some procedures we followed to adapt folk narratives from the region of Romaria, state of Minas Gerais, into drama literature. For that we started from a narrative universe to investigate the possibilities of doing so. In addition to the narratives content we searched to identify life experiences revealed during the story-tellers performance and shared with the audience. Since such material has proved to have great imagery clearness we took it as the starting point to present our procedures to create texts susceptible to staging, that is, the so-called pre-texts. These folk narratives presented recurring elements we selected and developed to show our procedures taken to build our dramaturgical choice.
