Resumo: The current context, marked by various changes in the world of work, has generated numerous impacts on the organization and division of work, as well as on the weakening of labor laws and the worker’s illness. The current characteristics of work have compromised the mental health of workers due to several factors and situations, such as exposure to toxic agents, high levels of noise, situations of risk to physical integrity, as well as the forms of work organization and management policies, which disregard the physical and psychological limits of the worker, often imposing on him the annulment of his subjectivity so that production is not harmed, and the established goals are met. In this scenario of transformations and crises in the world of work, health professionals are one of the groups most susceptible to illness and develop mental health problems, such as depression and the risk of suicide, due to working conditions, stressful environment and daily contact with human suffering. Thus, it is essential that health management, among other aspects, play a fundamental role in the organization of work and education for self-care of health workers, in order to eliminate and/or mitigate the risk of illness for health workers. Implemented in Brazil, the National Policy on Permanent Education in Health (PNEPS), a result of the advances of the Constitution of 1988 and the implementation of the Unified Health System-SUS, emerged with the proposal of significant learning, of the problematization of the work process in health, new ways of thinking and acting, from the acquisition of knowledge that implies the self-analysis of reality and the work environment itself, thus allowing a rethinking of professional practices, work organization, sectoral management and the strengthening of control society, having as a reference the health needs of the population assisted. The teaching processes, immersed in technological innovations and advances, specifically in Health Education, opened space for new educational models and Virtual Learning Environment-VLE, allowing to overcome structural barriers and spatial limits in the learning process, through the self-instructional model, mediated by information and communication technologies. Changes in educational processes allowed the construction of a flexible, communicative and interactive methodology between the parties involved, based on the quality of knowledge transmission and on meaningful learning, in the development of training, improvement and updating of health professionals. In this sense, the present work aims to develop a course, in a virtual learning environment, for health professionals and related areas, addressing education for self-care in the context of work.
