Resumo: | 'Poetics of the gaze: scopophilia and panopticism in a videographic production' is a poetic research in the line of practices and processes in visual arts, done between 2010 and 2012. The research shows the video productions and theoretical assumptions that have emerged from these productions. It deals with the contemporary gaze based on the concepts of scopophilia and panopticism unfolding on issues such as voyeurism, exhibitionism and surveillance. The artistic production is a set of four works, which appeals to interactivity, named 'Olho Mágico', 'Telescópio', 'Janela' and 'À Espreita'. The hypothesis that permeates the research is that is the acts of spying and peeking are similar in the current "surveillance society". Similarly, this state of things nourishes the poetics of the artists who question this reality in productions in which the viewer stands in the place of the one who observes, and also in the one who is observed. The theoretical bases are in the ideas and studies of Michel Foucault, Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Arlindo Machado, Jacques Aumont and Philippe Dubois, as well as other authors, artists and works that contribute for these issues to be incorporated into the field of the video. |
