Resumo: | Assuming that the issue of violence has always been part of the human experience, it is essential to understand its roots, dynamics and impacts to seek effective solutions and promote a safer and more harmonious society. This study aimed to reflect on how the social dynamics and multiple manifestations of urban violence present in the Jardim Canaã neighborhood and its associated subdivisions can impact socio-spatial practices and the lifestyle of residents. To obtain empirical information, we adopted an exploratory qualitative research approach, using questionnaires to listen to residents and build an understanding based on their perceptions. The theoretical analyzes presented reflect the experiences lived by the residents of Bairro Canaã, highlighting the importance of understanding the complex interactions between violence, urbanization and society in specific contexts. This study contributed to a deeper understanding of social and territorial dynamics, providing valuable insights for future interventions and public policies aimed at promoting safety and quality of life in the community. |
