Resumo: This doctoral thesis has as its main objective to introduce ―geophilosophizing understood as a theoretical approach, field of study, and a mode of horizontal approximation between pieces of knowledge and areas, with the goal of enabling a new geophilosophical perspective on inherent problems of human life on Earth. The starting point is the concept of ―geophilosophy‖ presented by Deleuze and Guattari in the book ―What is Philosophy? (Qu'est-ce que la philosophie?), whose fundamental goal is to affirm the relationship of immanence between philosophy and the Earth: therefore, it is a ―Philosophy of [and about] the Earth‖ The relevance of the concept introduced by the French authors sparked great interest within many intellectuals, among whom Caterina Resta, Luisa Bonesio, Massimo Cacciari, and Rodolphe Gasché stand out, enabling developments that allow us to assert that we are already dealing with different geophilosophies and not just one. Furthermore, our studies have led to the proposition that both authors from the past and contemporary authors, including Christine de Pisan, Erasmus of Rotterdam, Giordano Bruno, Zera Yacob, Miroslav Milovic, Milton Santos, and Carolina Maria de Jesus, already carried in their writings a ―geophilosophical embryo‖ However, the conjecture that geophilosophy can constitute, in itself, a distinct field of study and a specific research area also encounters dissent; as Marco Baldino stated, ―geophilosophy is nothing more than a simple variation of the postmodern: be suspicious of everything acquired until yesterday‖ In this direction, we propose the following question, which is central to this thesis: ―Can geophilosophy establish itself as a new area of research? To answer it, also based on Deleuze and Guattari, for whom philosophy is the art of forming, inventing, and fabricating concepts, we introduce the verb/concept of ―geophilosophizing‖ as the corollary of a conceptual research - preceded by the necessary prolegomena and accompanied by examples and case studies - that allowed us to affirm: ―Yes, geophilosophy constitutes a distinct field of research, seeking in the understanding and practice of alterity, means for overcoming the capitalist status quo.
