Resumo: This is a qualitative research to evaluate the knowledge of six preschool children, aged three and four years, on health themes before and after their participation of each of them in two playful workshops of approximately 30 minutes each, from the perspective of mediational intervention in a philanthropic preschool, in Uberlândia - MG. For that, developed nine children's stories and games, from topics and themes related to health promotion, prioritized by the Ministry of Health. The data is given through video recordings and portfolio performed by children in workshops, as the five universal criteria of mediation: focus, mediation of meaning, expansion, reward and behavior regulation, developed by Feuerstein and colleagues (1980), and contained in MISC- Program Mediated intervetion for Sensitizing Caregivers. Data from the workshops with the children demonstrate the relevance of mediational intervention for Health Promotion and greater ownership by children, health concepts developed during interventions. However, due to small sample size, further studies should be undertaken in order to consolidate the relevance of mediational intervention in the learning of young children, as to health themes. Changes analyzed through the words of children, during the workshops, as the promoter elements of health, possible to consider its effectiveness.
