Resumo: By transforming the interactions between people technology has boosted new educational demands for the formation of subjects able to live in today's society. In the face of such a scenario, it is necessary to search for methods and didactic resources that contribute to improve learning results. The game and the activities with pedagogical strategies common to this universe can be considered didactic-methodological possibilities to motivate and arouse the interest of students and enhance learning. Given this context, the present research investigated the use of games and didactic strategies related to these as a teaching resource in teaching Elementary School, specifically in the 1st grade classes of municipal public schools in Uberlândia. The sample was selected according to the five geographic regions of the city, with the intention of composing a diversified sample. The present research is of a qualitative and quantitative nature, since it contemplated the collection of quantitative data through an online questionnaire to know the educational context and interviews for the analysis and understanding of the reports of professional about their pedagogical practices. The final considerations demonstrate that even the teachers of the investigated educational environment strive to use the games even in adverse situations, but mainly use the didactic strategies of entertainment activity in their classroom planning in a conscious and systematic way.
