Resumo: | The application in medicine of inorganic compounds is a grovvth field especially in the areas of novel therapeutic approaches and diagnostics. As consequence of the renewed interest, the development of novel drugs based on coordination compounds is actually a very active area of research. W ithin tliis frame, special attention is dedicated to the development of novel compounds coordinating of biological interest with transition metais. This work presents the results of our investigation of the syntheses and characterization of the coordination compounds between amines ligands and ruthenium(II) and (III). The focus is on grow inhibition activity of some Gram-positive bactérias ( Enterococ-cus faecalis, Enterobacter faecium,Staphylococcus aureus) and Gram-negativa bactérias (.Escherichia coli, Serratia marcescens, Salmonella sp). The best inhibition effect was observed with ruthenium(III) based coordination com- pounds for bactérias Staphylococcus aureusand Escherichia coli . The results support the metal oxidation state and the interaction with bactérias are the main factors controlling the grown inhibition |
