The thesis approaches the teacher s formation, aiming more specifically at the environmental education proportioned by the course of Pedagogy of the Land of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás. The methodology design followed three phases: an analysis of the documents regarding the official program offered to the students; a survey answered by the students of the curse and a third one done in the setting were the students practice and develop their teaching work, constituted by interviews with students-teachers. Although some of our initial questions were not answered by the research findings, therefore needing other future studies a relevant conclusion is offered by this research. It arouse the knowledge that the environmental education, in the formal/institutional framework is needed to achieve any change in the environmental field through new lines of thought and life behavior. As such it has been already included in the Licenciatura em Educação do Campo in the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás.
