Resumo: The proposal of this research stems from observations made for more than a decade, on the advancement of sugarcane plantations in the Triângulo Mineiro region and the territorial condition of traditional peasant communities. We delimit our study area considering the traditional communities of Bálsamo, Brilhante and Confusão, all of them are located in the municipality of Tupaciguara - MG. We consider the socio - territorial condition of the peasant in relation to the space reoccupied by the interest of the sugar - alcohol sector in the city of Tupaciguara - MG and we study the socio - cultural practices and the ways of inserting their production in the market. We also aimed to understand how peasants live / exist in places and in communities, dealing with tensions imposed by agribusiness, having as a temporal cut in the decade of 2000. The empiria was achieved in fieldwork. In direct contact with the families, we observe, describe, compare and analyze the landscapes of sugarcane, its dynamicity and implications in the ways of life and territorial ties of peasants. The speeches of the subjects followed by analysis derive from various periods of experience that we established with peasants surrounded by cane. In the researcher / researcher relationship, we analyze peasant memory, the importance of religiosity, landscape, territoriality, territory, resilience, knowledge and territorial links and their implications for actions that are established in the place, as well as the perspectives of conquests, losses, frustrations and elaboration of new strategies of existence. For the preparation of the cartographic material we use GIS technologies to present the land uses in the municipality of Tupaciguara MG. We found the use of mutual aid in the construction of silos to feed the herd and to clean the pastures. Old practices that provide reciprocity and confidence to peasant activities. With regard to the religious we devote attention to community relations and their repercussions in the elaboration of socio-productive strategies. We consider that the agricultural landscapes of Tupaciguara also derive from state interventions, based on public policies voted for the sugar and alcohol sector, which exert strong pressure on space, contributing to changes in the peasant territories. With this, we understand that resilience is implied in the processes of peasant (re) existence and in the possibilities for traditional families and communities to reorganize in their territories.
